Kintyre

Kintyre is the long droopy bit of Scotland that separates the Clyde from the west coast proper. In fact it is so droopy that legend has it that the Mull of Kintyre was once the bench mark for how erect a penis could be before being shown on the BBC television. The west part, which is what we are concerned with here, is of course exposed to the south and west but there are some nice lochs to escape into, and a lovely island - Gigha. Going from south to north you will find:

Machrihanish Bay

Gigha anchorages

West Loch Tarbert anchorages

Loch Stornoway

Chapel Bay

Eilean Mor

Loch Sween anchorages

Loch na Cille

Carsaig Bay

Sailean Mor

Two yachts heading for the Mull of Kintyre on the Scottish Islands Peaks Race

Scottish anchorages
